I didn’t know about The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park until recently but it describes itself as “Yorkshire’s Hidden Gem” so I knew I had to check it out!

This place is stunning. When you go in there’s a cafe, a plant centre and a children’s playground. You can then head down into the gardens to see all the plants, flowers, sculptures and wildlife 🦆

We managed to get round with two toddlers and prams in tow but it really isn’t pram friendly. The paths are mostly loose stone and there’s lots of steps. We ended up parking them up and walking. My tip would be take a carrier if you have one or if you need a pram head for the path called K (also called Coronation Drive) as it is a flat path all the way down to the lakes. Be warned it’s pretty steep so save some energy for your walk back.

The gardens are only open for a small part of the year so we were keen to get a visit in. It is open Mid April until 14th July 10-4pm everyday except Monday. it also opens in the autumn from 5th October until 3rd November.

It cost us £9 per adult, under 5’s are free.

We took a picnic but I’ve been told the cafe is lovely and does great cake 🍰👍🏻

We’ll definitely be back. We didn’t cover it all so I’m sure you’d see something different every time.

I suggested on Facebook that maybe for next year they could add on the map some suggested routes for prams/those who struggle with steps, which they responded positively to. 😊
