I shared a stat a little while ago that said “Nearly 10% of children have not set foot in a park, forest or a beach for at least 12 months”
Can you believe this!?
I thought Studfold Adventure Nature Trail looked like the perfect place to get kids out and about exploring in the woods!
We headed to this magical fairy village. (There’s also mini tractors for anyone not a fan of fairies!)
Situated in the stunning Yorkshire Dales, if you love being outdoors and want somewhere new to explore this place is great.
We paid £6 per adult (under 3’s are free) and set off on the nature trail. You get a map and clue sheet to complete. There’s lots of sculptures, activity boxes, den building areas and a craft hut where you can spot and draw birds.
At the highest point there’s a barn where you can make a badge, enjoy a picnic and refreshments. There’s a playground with sandpits and ride on tractors. Before you set off you can order a picnic from the cafe and it will be waiting for you at the barn. The final part is the beautiful fairy woods.
After enjoying the trail there’s a little cafe where you can get lunch or just cool off with an ice cream.
It was such a beautiful place we enjoyed walking bare foot in the grass and having a digital detox!
They are open from 10.30am – 5.30pm. 1st April to 3oth September – school holidays and weekends.
One piece of advice would be to leave the pram at home. We managed to get it round but it was not easy so if you have a little one, take a carrier!
